As the two travelers were descending the final hill, the prince noticed a strange crescent shaped mountain range off in the distance. When he pointed it out to his companion, the knight informed him that it was their current destination. It took another 3 hours to reach the range. They walked to the opening where the tips of the moon shape met and they discovered what appeared to be a small group of hooded soldiers. The lead solider called out for the immortal hammer. The prince was surprised to discover that they were expected, and that the hammer seemed to know this hooded woman who was carrying a large weapon that seemed to be a combination of a bow staff and dagger blade. When the prince inquired about the use of the object, the hooded solider clad in white responded that it was to protect Lady OLYMIA, who emerged from behind her at the mention of her name.
Sudden bursts of realization came over the prince. He now knew where they were. The ALPHA SIERRA COLONY. These were the first group of people who broke off from continuum city and migrated here to expand the reach of the kingdom. This was the daughter of Lady OSSA, the founder of alpha sierra. Olympia and the prince were childhood friends. When the prince was young, lady ossa would make regular trips back to continuum city to give reports to the king and pick up supplies. Ossa would always bring olympia with her and while the adults were off doing their adult business, they would hang out and get into trouble. Once the colony had become more stable they came back less and less until they eventually stopped all together. By the princes estimation it had probably been 3 years since they had seen each other last.
After the pleasantries were dispensed with, they preceded down into the valley where the village was. The houses were much different here in alpha sierra. In continuum city all of the houses were angular and box like, but here they were all round, there didn’t seem to be a sharp edge in the entire village. The knight had some important business to discuss with the head of olympias guard who was apparently named IFRI. Olympia showed the prince more of the town and told him about how there has been many attacks from a group they called The DARK RAIDERS. The dark raiders seemed to bear a strong resemblance to the man who had murdered his father months ago.
They were both tired from walking all day and went back to olympias place to hang out. She lived in the biggest dome in the village. The unit was divided into 3 separate compartments with a common room in the middle. It turned out it was shared by her, ifri and her mother (who was currently out of town helping a fellow colony). Inside her compartment the mood was very different. She told him that because of the raiders she wasn’t allowed to leave the colony anymore, and that she had become increasingly more and more bored. She reiterated how glad she was to see him, mostly because everyone in the colony was so dull and unadventurous. Eventually olympia seated herself next to him on the couch and they just sat for a while in silence, but the moment came to an end when they heard shouting coming from the common room.
They rushed outside to find a solider proclaiming that raiders had been spotted in town. All the commotion had brought ifri out of her room. She stumbled out clumsily putting her hood back on, followed closely by the princes bearded companion. The prince made a note to himself that he would have to ask him about that later. Ifri commanded that olympia remain here while she went to check on the village, and then her and the knight ran outside. Olympia said screw that, and they both climbed out her back window. She took him to the look out tower in the center of the town. They climbed the stairs to the top of the tower, but when the prince opened the door to the lookout, his head was savagely slammed into a wall.
It took a second for the prince to regain his vision. When he looked up all he saw was the raiders back as he ran down the stairs with olympia slung over his shoulder. The prince stumbled to his feet and began pursuit. He flew down the stairs just in time to spot the raider round a corner. The prince unbuckled the hilt from his belt loop and sprinted after him. The raider was burning a path straight out of town. The prince used all his strength to run as hard as he could after him, slowly gaining distance on the dark kidnapper.
The prince caught up just as he reached the mountain wall. There was a rope hanging down the side of the mountain (obviously what they had used to enter the village). The raider realized that he couldn’t scale the wall holding the lady without the prince stopping him, so he drew his kirpan and lunged at the prince.
The prince easily dodged the attack, but when he moved to parry, he realized his weapon remained bladeless. At that same moment his eyes fell on olympia. Her face was badly bruised. The raider must have struck her in the face as well. A burst of anger shot through his body and he looked down at the hilt to see the glowing blue blade had emerged again.
A flash of fear shot through the raiders eyes, but he leapt at the prince again and again. The prince easily dodged his attacks and finally saw his opening and struck. When the blade touched the bandits flesh his body froze and turned to a blinding blue color and then shattered into tiny pieces that evaporated in the air. The prince was shocked, but relieved because he had saved olympia. He gathered her up in his arms and started walking back to the village. After walking for a moment she regained consciousness and looked up at him and softly whispered… my hero.
