The world became a rush of colors for a moment. First it was green as the princes body crashed through the leaf wall, for an instant it was blue as he was floating in the air, and then he was underwater. The prince composed himself as quickly as he could and brought himself back to the surface. The pool of water he was floating in was small and formed a perfect circle, surrounded on all sides by the wall of leaves. The prince scanned the wall looking for the spot he had been flung through. As soon as the prince spotted the hole, he saw his immortal companion tumble through as well. He was accompanied by two wave wolves who had their jaws locked to his left arm and right leg. He struggled on the ground with the synthetic predators and was able to break free just long enough to yell at the prince to DIVE!
He hesitated for only a second, and then dove down into the dark water. Under the water it was almost impossible to see anything, and the small pool seemed to be unfathomably deep. Being in the pool reminded him of one of the most traumatic events of his childhood. When he was 10, he fell down the castles well, the prince was down there in the cold cramped blackness for hours before anyone found him. The memory still haunted him. Panic was starting to set in and the only thing that the prince could make out in the water was a faint glow on the opposite side from him, so he started to swim towards it.
It took a minute or two of swimming, but finally the glow was getting brighter. With every stroke the light was getting closer and stronger, and now the prince was starting to feel a light gentle current pulling him towards the light. Just a couple of days ago this situation would have given the prince a considerable amount of anxiety, but in contrast to all the other things they’ve done in the past couple days, this didn’t seem so bad. His mother had always tried to teach him to go with the flow, but his default was always to swim against the current.
Finally the prince got close enough to light source to find that it was a hole in the wall which was emanating an intense golden light. The gentle current he had felt earlier was now considerably stronger. The prince swam closer still (mostly because he could no longer fight the current that was dragging him towards the opening). The prince was so close to the hole now that the golden light was almost blinding, he stopped swimming for a moment to shield his eyes, and that’s when the current grabbed him.
In an instant the prince was moving at an inconceivable speed through the water, propelled by some unseen force. The light was becoming brighter still, and eventually the light consumed him. The prince lost all sense of self. He could no longer tell if he was still moving at the incredible pace or just floating. A faint shape started to appear in front of him. At first it was small like a rock, but eventually it started to grow larger. It expanded and eventually took the form a human body. The light source seemed to be coming from directly behind it so the prince couldnt see any distinguishing features except for what appeared to be a crown on top of its head. Slowly the figure began to fade away until all that remained was the skeleton, and then that disintegrated to leave only a skull still with the crown a top it.
The next thing the prince knew, he was waking up soaking wet on a beach and he could hear what sounded like a waterfall. His eyes opened and he sat up. The prince found himself on a large earthen platform seemingly floating in the sky. In the center of the platform there was a small lake with golden water and a small mound of dirt in the center. There were two canals coming out of the sides, and both canals ran to the edge of the platform where the water flowed off the edge. The prince continued to scan the landscape and spotted his bearded companion on the opposite shore. The immortal hammer was staring at the mound in the middle of the pond with his goggles on. It seemed as though the knight could sense him watching him, because the knight turned to him and pointed at the mound. He then jumped into the water and started swimming towards it. Reluctantly the prince followed suit and jumped in the water.
