- Endless Snowflake –
For the first moment everyone was still. Suddenly with a speed the Prince had never seen before, The King was in front of him pointing his sword at the intruder. The Rider leapt from his mount and his sword clashed with the Kings. The Prince had seen his father duel many times, but for some reason this time felt different. His father moved faster than he’d ever seen him move before, almost as if the King had been holding back all his skills his entire life for just this one moment. And for that moment the King seemed to have the upper hand, but as soon as the thought left the Prince’s mind he saw the black lance shoot through his fathers back in a spray of white light and blood.
The room became deathly silent. The king held his chest with a look of utter astonishment upon his face. Where his hand covered his wound small shards of white light jutted out. The Dark Rider turned on his heels and jumped on his steed and was gone as quickly as he came.
Everyone turned to the King, and once all eyes were upon him he exploded in a burst of white hot light. Where he once stood now a gigantic snowflake shaped crystal remained. The crystal was covered in strange reflections. The Prince edged closer in disbelief, and gazed into the crystal snowflake. In it he could see images of his father, adventures he had undertaken, he saw himself as a baby, and then there were other men in the crystal as well, men who looked similar to his father, but not quite the same, doing things he was sure his father never did.
The Prince reached out and touched the crystal. The moment his finger connected with the snowflake it began to shrink until it could fit in the palm of his hand. He turned to his mother with tears in his eyes. And with tears in her eyes the Queen uttered these words “Your father’s gone. Now his spirit will adventure forever in the Continuum of the Sky” And all the knights in chorus repeated the words ADVENTURE FOREVER.
